Madelaine was invited to a New Year’s Eve party last year.

She was expected to arrive at a whole number of minutes (M) past an hour but she was late by a whole number of minutes whose digits were those of M in reverse order.

Her arrival spoilt the event but she pointed out that the angles between the hands of the clock when she was expected and on her arrival were the same.

At what time was she expected to arrive?
