Sunday Times Teaser 2780 – Calendar Dice

I put capital letters on the faces of three dice in such a way that I could go as far as possible through the year in displaying the three letter month abbreviations:

JAN, FEB, MAR, …

It turned out that one of the dice contained four vowels.

(a) What was the last month that I was able to display?

(b) What were the two other letters on that particular die?
