My train accelerated steadily from stationary to a speed of 220 miles per hour, travelled at this speed for a whole number of minutes and then decelerated steadily to a stop.
The journey took less than an hour and the two digits in the overall time were the same as those for the time spent at constant speed but in reverse order.
The journey was a whole number of miles – how many?
