Sunday Times Teaser 2618 – Antics on the Block
by Andrew Skidmore
A rectangular cuboid with a square base has side lengths that are all integer numbers of centimetres and a height that is its smallest dimension.
An ant moves along three edges from a top corner to the bottom corner that is furthest away and in doing so travels 10 centimetres more than it would have done had it used the shortest path on the cuboid’s surface.
What are the dimensions of the cuboid?
